| Dr. Pei Zheng is a senior mobile software architect with over 8 years
of work experience with various parties in the mobile wireless
ecosystem, including Microsoft, Nextel, and Lucent. He is currently
with i-Mate responsible for the overall software architecture for
i-mate devices, managing and coordinating activities related to the
development and approval of the embedded software and O/S within the
Product Development and Engineering teams in i-Mate. He also manages
technical relationships regarding software architecture with ODMs,
Technology Partners and software application providers, defining and
implementing strategic features and functionality for all i-mate
devices
A technology expert of various mobile platforms, Dr. Zheng is specialized in identifying, scoping, and managing the development of key mobile wireless technologies and emerging mobile applications and services for smart phones. An insider of the Windows Mobile ecosystem, he has extensive deep technical partner engagement experience with major handset makers and mobile operators around the world. The mobility consulting engineering services he manages at Microsoft has generated over 1 million dollars of service revenue in 2008. Some examples of Dr. Zheng work at Microsoft are: "Wireless Mesh Networking With Multiple Simultaneous Transmissions By Nearby Network Nodes" (Patent pending), "Enabling dual-SIM, dual-Standby radio for Windows Mobile Smart Phones", "Enterprise VoIP Stack Integration with Windows Mobile", "Context-Aware Mobile Advertising on Smart Phones", and "Cellular-WiFi Wireless Manager with customized Windows Mobile Connection Manager". Dr. Zheng is author of two highly reviewed books, 'Smart Phone and Next Generation Mobile Computing' by Morgan Kaufmann, and 'Professional Smartphone Programming' by Wiley/Wrox, and numerous cited publications on IEEE journals and conferences. He speculated Apple iPhone in the book 'Smart Phone and Next Generation Mobile Computing' in 2005, two years before iPhone was launched.
Dr. Zheng received a PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 2003. His research was focused on computer networking performance evaluation, network emulation, and mobile wireless technologies.
Dr. Zheng was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, from 1999 to 2000, working on mobile wireless technology research and telecommunication management software.
